Tuesday Moderate Ride – November 4th – 9:00 AM – Panera
This week we will follow a familiar route to a familiar location, but a new destination. For many years Blue Max Coffee in Forest Park was a favorite destination on the Tuesday rides, but Blue Max closed in the before times (pre-pandemic). A new restaurant – Lathrop House – opened during the pandemic with greatly expanded and improved outdoor seating, and it too became a favorite destination for the Tuesday rides. Alas Lathrop House closed in 2023. Now there is a new restaurant at the location – Bizzy Bees, that we will visit this week. I have not visited this restaurant and cannot offer a review. They appear to not have a website; various versions of their menu can be found on platforms for ordering carryout. The menu is primarily Mexican cuisine, but they also serve what are chauvinistically called “American” favorites. They appear to serve breakfast all day. So come out and join me this week as we try out someplace new.
Here is a link to the route I will use: Bizzy Bees Café · Ride with GPS. Our total distance will be about 42 miles. I will ride at a moderate (13 – 15 mph) pace. With enough interest, there can be a second slightly faster group led by Will.
The weather looks good for Tuesday: cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. The temperature range during the ride is expected to be between 49 and 59 degrees. It could get as warm as 61 degrees. There is only a 2% chance of precipitation. The wind will be out of the south at 10 to 20 mph, which means that the wind will be at our back for a good part of the return trip.
