Hi All,
There will be bike lanes on Oakton in Skokie between the North Shore Channel path and slightly short of the Skokie Valley trail. That's from McCormick to Skokie BLVD. Also about a mile short of the new two way path on Oakton starting at Lehigh going to the bridge at Caldwell and then turning north to the protected lanes going west on Howard.

Thank you for attending the public information meeting for the Oakton Street Project in Skokie on Thursday, October 10, 2024, or for engaging with our project team since that meeting. The public information meeting provided residents with an opportunity to learn about the project and share their questions and comments with project staff. More than 90 people attended the meeting and engaged in meaningful conversations with the project team. As a result of these conversations, several modifications were made to the roadway plans to help the project better align with community needs.
In order to keep you informed about the project, we are providing you with a project newsletter, which details key project updates, summarizes the project's benefits, provides answers to Frequently Asked Questions, discusses the project’s preferred alternatives, and outlines the project’s timeline and next steps. At this stage, Cook County anticipates construction on this project will begin in 2026.
